Vintage Pair Skunk Decor Clay Pottery Figurines Unusual 3.25" Tall~Japan?

DESCRIPTION
Part of a large collection of skunk memorabilia that I will be posting for a friend. I was unable to find any like this anywhere on the internet. Going by the style I'm thinking possibly Japan, a lot of her collection was from there. These are unusual in the fact that they seem to be made from the same mold but one has a white chest, red mouth, and nose with white painted in the eye. The other one is totally black except for the white stripe down the back and the tail and has a much higher gloss. I have no idea why they're so different and yet the same.
CONDITION
They look to be in very good condition the only thing I see is some minor discoloration to the white glaze. But I did not see any chips or cracks.
